The build score of 9.9 isn't a typo — this is the kind of set where you lose entire weekends and don't notice. Dark, angular, and imposing at full height, Barad-dûr commands a shelf the way the Dark Tower commands Middle-earth. LEGO® leaned hard into technique here: layered stonework, dramatic silhouette, and a sheer scale that makes most Icons sets look timid by comparison. Where it stumbles is the 'what you get' side — 11 minifigs sounds like a party until you notice how many familiar faces are missing for nearly $460. The price lands at B+ territory, which for a set this size and ambition feels about right, though you'll feel it. If the build is the journey, Barad-dûr is the long road to Mordor — exhausting in the best way possible.
