A building this iconic probably deserves a better deal — 4,015 pieces and a $300 price tag that's hard to square when you put it next to similarly-scaled Icons sets.
Is the price fair?B-At $300 for this scale, you're paying a premium the build doesn't fully justify.
Will you love it?C+It photographs beautifully but the interior depth may leave you wanting more.
Holds its value?BSolid B — iconic subject and large footprint give it real staying power after retirement.

The Full Take
The Natural History Museum is one of those subjects LEGO® really should nail — grand Victorian architecture, a hint of wonder, the kind of set that looks serious on a shelf. And the model does deliver a striking facade: arched windows, ornate detailing, the kind of build that photographs well. But $299.99 for 4,015 pieces is a tough sell when the price grades out at a D+, and the interior play is thinner than a set this large implies. The nine minifigs are a nice touch — a paleontologist crew feels right for the theme — but they can't carry the value case on their own. The build experience is solid if you're into large-scale architectural projects, but don't expect the clever part-usage density of a modular. Where it lands is somewhere between a display piece for the committed collector and a set that makes most buyers pause at checkout.
