$199.99 for 1,872 pieces of DeLorean. The price on this one is almost offensive — in the best way — for what you're getting from an Icons-tier set.
Is the price fair?A+One of the fairest prices on any Icons set — the gap between MSRP and perceived value is unusually wide here.
Will you love it?C-The car is unmistakable, but two minifigs leaves the display feeling a little thin.
Holds its value?BSteady secondary market — won't spike dramatically, but it's not sliding either.
The Full Take
The Back to the Future Time Machine is one of those rare licensed sets where the price doesn't feel like a penalty for loving the IP. At $199.99 for nearly 1,900 pieces, you're getting a car that looks unmistakable on a shelf — flux capacitor, gull-wing doors, Mr. Fusion on the trunk. The build itself is a solid weekend project with some genuinely satisfying shaping work on the body. Two minifigs is the real sore spot: Marty and Doc, sure, but you're not staging any scenes beyond the basics. Resale has been steady rather than spectacular, making this one more of a keeper than a flipper. If you loved the trilogy, the price here makes this a very easy yes.
