The Friends Apartments might be the best deal LEGO® has put on shelves in years — 2048 pieces, all six Central Perk crew, and an iconic set that TV fans will stop dead in their tracks for, at a price that makes you double-check the tag.
Is the price fair?A+One of the most fairly priced sets LEGO® has released in the Icons line — full stop.
Will you love it?C+If Friends means anything to you, this one's a no-brainer; if it doesn't, the interiors alone justify a look.
Holds its value?B+Solid performer post-retirement, though it won't be the flashiest flip in your portfolio.
The Full Take
Six main cast minifigs, a dead-on recreation of Monica and Rachel's apartment plus Joey and Chandler's across the hall, and 2048 pieces for under $180 — the math here is almost embarrassing in LEGO®'s favor. The build itself is smart: the split-apartment layout gives you two complete interiors with all the signature details, from the purple door peephole to the foosball table. LEGO® clearly understood the assignment on fan service, and it shows in every little prop crammed into these rooms. The shelf presence is strong — it reads instantly to anyone who watched the show, and it holds up as a display piece even if you never saw a single episode. The only soft spot is that the exterior facade is pretty thin; this is very much an interior-focused set. Still, an A- overall is hard to argue with when the price-to-experience ratio is this lopsided in the buyer's favor.
