2,355 pieces of NASA history for $200 — the Discovery model is one of the most faithful renditions of any spacecraft LEGO® has ever attempted, and the price makes that almost embarrassing for the competition.
Is the price fair?A+$200 for this much NASA fidelity is a quiet steal — one of Icons' best value propositions in years.
Will you love it?C+No minifigs and zero play features means the love lives entirely in the build and the display — which are both excellent.
Holds its value?B+Retired now and climbing — a B+ hold with real room to grow as shuttle nostalgia only gets stronger.
The Full Take
The Space Shuttle Discovery set is one of those rare builds where LEGO® clearly cared about getting it right. The orbiter's silhouette is instantly recognizable, the cargo bay opens to reveal the Hubble Space Telescope, and the stand puts it at a display angle that looks deliberate rather than like an afterthought. At $200 for this level of subject matter and engineering, it's one of the better deals in the Icons lineup. The weakest part of the package is ironically what you don't get — no minifigs, no crew, nothing to populate the scene — which may bother some buyers more than others. But for anyone drawn to real-world subject matter done with care, this one delivers. It's the kind of set that earns a permanent spot on the shelf simply because nothing else in your collection looks like it.
