This is one of those sets where LEGO® clearly had a vision and committed to it. The fairground haunted house concept — complete with a ride-through ghost train on the lower floor — is genuinely unlike anything else in the Icons lineup. Ten minifigs populate it well, and the exterior silhouette is dramatic enough to command a shelf from across the room. The gothic architecture techniques are varied and the build stays engaging across 3,000-plus pieces. Where it stumbles is the price: $299.99 for what's here feels like LEGO® leaning on the theme's novelty to hold the line. It holds value reasonably well post-retirement, which softens the sting, but you're paying a premium on entry. If the Halloween aesthetic speaks to you, that premium is probably worth it — this set has a personality most can't match.
