The Carousel is one of those sets where the concept alone does half the work, but LEGO® backed it up with the engineering to match. A functioning carousel mechanism with lights and a music box sound chip is not something you see in most sets at this price point. The seven minifigures dress the scene without overpowering it, and the fairground color palette pops from across the room. At $199.99 for what is effectively a kinetic display piece, the price sits fair — not a steal, but not a stretch either. The build itself is a long, satisfying project with enough mechanical complexity to hold adult attention.
